What It Costs
How Much Does App Development Cost?
The honest answer is a range, and anyone quoting a single number before seeing your scope is guessing. Below are the market rates custom app development is quoted at worldwide, grouped by how complex the build actually is — so you can place your idea before you talk to anyone, us included.
Indicative market ranges in US dollars. Your project is quoted on its own scope.
Simple App / MVP
One clear job, done well. The version you put in front of real users to find out whether the idea holds.
Typically 6–10 weeks
- One platform, or cross-platform with React Native
- 4–8 core screens with custom UI
- Standard sign-up, login and profiles
- Basic backend and admin view
- App Store and Play Store submission
Business App
A product with real operations behind it — payments, roles, integrations and data that has to stay correct.
Typically 3–5 months
- iOS and Android, released together
- Custom backend, API and admin dashboard
- Payments, subscriptions or in-app purchases
- Third-party integrations (CRM, ERP, logistics)
- Push notifications, analytics and crash reporting
Complex / Enterprise
Scale, compliance and uptime as first-class requirements, usually with existing systems to work around.
Typically 6 months and up
- Real-time features, offline sync or streaming
- Multiple user roles and permission models
- Deep integration with legacy or enterprise systems
- Security review and regulatory compliance work
- Load testing, monitoring and a scaling plan
What Moves the Number
Two apps with the same screen count can differ threefold in cost. These are the six factors that decide which end of the range you land on.
Platforms
Shipping iOS and Android natively costs close to double one platform. Cross-platform closes most of that gap, at the cost of some native polish.
Backend complexity
A login and a database is cheap. Real-time sync, multi-tenant permissions and heavy reporting are where budgets actually go.
Design depth
Template-led screens are fast. Original UI, motion, illustration and a design system add weeks before a line of production code ships.
Integrations
Every external system — payments, ERP, shipping, identity — adds build time plus testing against a service you do not control.
Compliance
GDPR, HIPAA, PCI or accessibility conformance are engineering work and documentation, not a checkbox at the end.
Life after launch
Budget 15–20% of the build cost per year for maintenance: OS updates, library upgrades, store policy changes and fixes.
Where does your app actually land?

Pricing Questions, Answered
How much does it cost to build an app?
A simple app or MVP is typically quoted between US$8,000 and US$20,000, a full business app with a custom backend, payments and integrations between US$20,000 and US$60,000, and complex or enterprise builds from US$60,000 upward. Those are market ranges for custom development worldwide; your own figure depends on platforms, backend complexity, design depth and integrations.
How long does app development take?
Roughly 6 to 10 weeks for a simple app or MVP, 3 to 5 months for a business app across iOS and Android, and 6 months or more for complex builds. Timelines assume feedback within a few days at each review point — waiting on decisions is the most common cause of slippage.
Do you quote a fixed price or charge hourly?
Fixed price against a fixed scope, split into milestones you pay as each one is delivered. If the scope changes mid-build we price the change before any work starts, so the number never moves without your sign-off.
What does ongoing maintenance cost after launch?
Budget 15 to 20 percent of the build cost per year. That covers OS and library updates, store policy changes, security patches and bug fixes. It is not optional — an unmaintained app breaks within a year or two of release as iOS and Android move on.
Do you build for both iOS and Android?
Yes. Cross-platform with React Native gets you both stores from one codebase and is the right call for most products. We build fully native when the app depends on platform-specific performance or hardware, and will tell you up front which one your project needs.
How much does a business website cost?
Websites are sold as fixed-price packages: Starter with up to 5 pages at US$800, Business with up to 8 pages at US$1,200, Professional at US$1,800 and Enterprise at US$2,800. You pay 30% in advance and the balance in instalments as milestones are delivered. Website Care & Performance Plans are prepaid at US$100 for 6 + 1 months, US$160 for 12 + 2 months or US$250 for 24 + 3 months.
What is in the Website Care & Performance Plans?
Core Web Vitals and PageSpeed optimization, code maintenance and dependency updates, security and SSL health checks, bug fixes, off-site backups, uptime monitoring, a monthly content-edit allowance and a monthly report. Plans are prepaid in US dollars with bonus months free: 6 + 1 months at US$100, 12 + 2 months at US$160, or 24 + 3 months at US$250 for one website; each additional website adds 33% of that price. A 7-day support trial costs US$5 and a maintenance top-up US$50.
What exactly do I receive when a project is delivered?
The complete source code in a Git repository you own, build and deployment configuration, API documentation, store listings under your own Apple and Google developer accounts, and a handover session. Nothing is held back and nothing depends on us to keep running.
How do payments, invoices and refunds work?
Every project is invoiced in US dollars against written milestones and paid online through our secure payment gateway. Website packages take 30% in advance with the rest in instalments; apps and custom software follow the milestone schedule in the proposal. Advances are fully refundable within 7 days if work has not started, and any milestone not yet delivered is refundable in full. The Refund & Cancellation Policy linked in the footer sets out the details.
